Michelle Williams

Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist

BA Psychology, BSW, MSW, RSW

Michelle Williams is a strengths based and attachment informed therapist with a BA in Psychology from York University as well as a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work from The University of Waterloo (RSW). Michelle is trained in relational and narrative modalities and considers systems theory, person-in-environment, as well as motivational interviewing while supporting clients.

After experiencing her own bereavement and working in hospice, Michelle went on to co-author a grief literacy training program (Being Here Human) that has been attended by over 1,000 participants in the last 4 years. In addition, Michelle is considered to be one of a handful of BIPOC Grief Experts in Canada, and is uniquely equipped to provide a safe environment for those processing a history of colonization, intergenerational grief, as well as the experiences of loss impacted by marginalization and intersections of identity. She also has a keen interest in supporting the experiences of menopause and post-menopause, and creating a space that is positive and validating to those in that phase of life.

Michelle is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where couples, families and individuals can safely begin to process their histories, grief, family dynamics, as well as any intrusive symptoms that have created a barrier to their experience of wellness. She is committed to walking with clients, and supporting them at whatever stage of life’s journey they find themselves in.
