Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist
CYW, BSW, MSW, RSW
Laura Fess has over a decade of experience working with youth, families and couples as they navigate various life experiences. She is an attachment and trauma-informed therapist with an advanced diploma in Child and Youth Work, as well as both an Undergraduate and Masters degree in Social Work (RSW). She has been trained in many modalities including: the Gottman Method, CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and SFBT.
As a social worker, Laura sees individuals, couples and families as a holistic system; one that includes history, family, experiences, location and cultural expressions. Her goal is to work with both the micro and macro elements of each system, utilizing evidence-based interventions to support clients as they process the roots of their needs as well as develop skills and tools to navigate various symptoms.
Laura is kind, bubbly, compassionate and committed to creating a judgement free environment where individuals, couples and families can safely explore how they experience the world, and the ways in which they want that to change. Laura is also a digital native and is proficient with the HIPPA compliant Jane App for virtual therapy sessions, and welcomes both in-person (Covid policy compliant) as well as virtual bookings.
